best-cell-phoneThe Palm Pre first appearance was on International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2009 in Las Vegas, USA which held by CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). In this exhibition around 2,000 manufactures joined and exhibit their new product and new technology and innovation.

The result of the show was giving Palm Pre as Best in Show and Best Cell Phone. The Palm Pre became the first cell phone / smart phone to win Best in Show since 2006. As The Best Cell Phone holder, the Palm Pre succeeds to go up against Motorola Surf A3100 and LG Watch Phone as nominee. Now, six months later and the Palm Pre is finally ready for release.

Why the Palm Pre is chosen as the best cell phone?

The Palm Pre design is quite innovative, combining a multi touch screen such as their rivals the Apple iPhone with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. This combination is giving us an alternate way to operate more suitable with the cell phone.

One thing that the Palm Pre is stand out over the iPhone, it’s in its multitasking and notification capabilities. The Deck of Card feature will letting you keep multiple applications open and running in the background while working in another. You can minimize and maximize tasks by using center button, like on a computer.

As the best cell phone, Palm Pre also equipped with features to do multi tasking application:

Multimedia

The Palm Pre comes with 3 Mega pixels basic camera and an LED flash. Fortunately, the camera comes with no options to choose effects, images size or resolution and no video recording but Palm has planned to add one in the future, which can be done through an over-the-air update. However, the Pre can geo tag photos with the integrated GPS.

For media player, the Palm Pre has built-in media player supports a number of formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, WAV, and AMR music files and MPEG-4, H263, and H264 video formats. Also have basic functions: play/pause, track forward/back, and shuffle and repeat modes.

Wireless connections

A network, which have capabilities download speed of 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps and upload speeds of 350 to 500 Kbps and covers 18,600 cities and 1,823 airports. In other way you can use the Pre’s integrated Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g with WPA, WPA2, WEP, 802.1 x authentications).

Data transfer

With this best cell phone you can make data transfer from any desktop or laptop computer and even your old smart phone to the Palm Pre. It is possible to do with Google, Facebook or Microsoft Exchange, since Synergy can pull in all your data after enter your account information. For the content, you can use desktop application, including Palm Desktop, Outlook, iCal and Address Book.

If you already using a Treo or any Palm phone, this Palm best cell phone enables you to perform data transfer from desktop computer, including Palm Desktop, iCal, or Exchange, and to your phone using Data Transfer Assistant (DTA).

Despite less some features and performance, well integrated and unparallel multitasking capabilities with the new developed OS and breaking-through design, the Palm Pre offers you a new experience of using a smart phone.
