Dell’s Adamo XPS Will Release on October 22

Dell, Inc, one of the world’s top PC vendors is preparing to release its Adamo XPS laptop, one of the most thinly ultraportable laptops. The Adamo XPS has only 0.39 inches at its thinnest point (Apple’s MacBook Air measures 17.4mm, or 0.76 inches, at its thickest point). The Dell’s ultraportable laptops planned to release on October 22 which is the same day that Microsoft is expected to launch the new operating system Windows 7.

Dell has been sounding the Adamo XPS since early September, coming as an update to the company’s new line of ultraportable laptops Adamo, which debuted early this year. Up to this moment, the company has been very secretive regarding the exact specifications of the new ultraportable laptops Adamo XPS, but it is expected to announce a full list of specifications, prices and availability on October 22 2009

dell-adamo-xps However, according to a couple of leaked information details that have surfaced on the Internet, the ultraportable laptops Adamo XPS will boast a thickness of just 0.39 inches and it will cost about US$2,000. In addition, one of the most interesting things we have found out about the upcoming Adamo laptop comes from a recent news-article in Business Week, where the system is said to boast a heat-sensing strip. Apparently this feature will work as an opening mechanism for Dell’s upcoming machine, enabling users to open the laptop’s aluminium lid by swiping a finger on the white-glowing strip.

At US$2,000 price tag per unit, Dell isn’t preparing to make the ultraportable laptops Adamo XPS a high-volume product, but rather one that will give it the bragging rights for some of the world’s unique computer systems. Basically, the company will continue to make products for the mainstream market, but its portfolio will include some special products, like the Adamo XPS, which will be aimed at the higher-end users, looking for something that can set them apart from the pack.
