The New Rumor²

LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A, Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) has released the new LG cell phone Rumor² series in April 2009, a successor for Rumor series released in October 2007. With Heidi Klum as an exclusive partnership, this LG cell phone series have become as an expression of personal style. As part of the partnership, LG is unveiling personalized back plates for their recently released LG cell phone Rumor², which is available exclusively through Sprint PCS. Heidi Klum, in her role as LG’s Ambassador of Style, lent her expertise to design five back plates and skins that express her personal style. Like Heidi, consumers can express their individual style and unique personalities by customizing their LG cell phone Rumor².

Body design

lg-cell-phones The LG cell phone Rumor² basically is rounded corners candy bar shape with smooth lines cell phone. Full QWERTY keyboard is concealed behind the display as front face and can be revealed by pushing to the left. When you pop out the Rumor’s keyboard, the screen image rotates into landscape mode for typing. The LG cell phone Rumor² dimension is 4.41″ (height) x 2.05″ (width) x 0.67″ (depth) and 4.23 oz weight.

The display is 2″ TFT 262,144 colors and supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Colors are bright and vibrant, graphics are sharp, and the simple menus are easy to navigate. You can change the font size and the backlighting time. The display also shows photo caller ID.

The numeric keypad buttons are slick as well, but we could dial quickly without any issues. Texting wasn’t a problem, either, though we have no reason to text on the nine-digit keypad when the phone has a QWERTY keyboard. The keys are raised, and they have backlighting for dialing in the dark . On the sides of the phone you’ll find a camera button, volume controls, a 2.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD memory card slot that worked fine with our 16GB SanDisk MicroSD card.

Performance

Using Sprint service the LG cell phone Rumor² call quality is quite agreeable, which the signal and voices sounded fine. A few minor trouble hearing from receiver occurs when we speaking in noisy environment. Speakerphone calls were fine and somewhat improved over the previous series. The audio was quite clear, and the volume was loud. Callers could understand us even if we spoke a couple of feet from the phone. Sprint’s EV-DO network doesn’t installed in this LG cell phone, makes this phone is a non e-mail-centric phone.

It’s too bad that LG couldn’t give us a better camera on the LG cell phone Rumor². The 1.3-megapixel camera lacks a flash and a self-portrait mirror. The camera takes pictures in three resolutions and three quality settings. Editing options include three color tones, adjustable brightness and white balance controls, nine fun frames, a self-timer, a digital zoom, a night mode, and four shutter sounds, plus a silent option and does not shoot video. Photo quality was good, with bright colors and little image noise.
