Sony Bravia KDL-55HX800 Review
posted by BP
Sony HDTV’s have been among the new 3D HDTV in the market today with their top-notch features and unmatched reliability. With so many choices available for the consumers, what are the products that make sure they get most from their hard earned money? Here is a look at Sony top 3D HDTV’s.
Sony Bravia KDL-55HX800
The Sony HDTV KDL-55HX800 is the company’s top-of-the-line flat-panel LED HDTV. Although the HX800 series is the least expensive of Sony’s family of 3D HDTVs (the LX900 and HX909 are the other two), you wouldn’t know it by this 55-inch HDTV’s hefty $3,400 price tag. Besides 3D, you’ll get the latest TV tech including LED backlighting and a fast 240Hz refresh rate, which translates to a beautiful 2D picture too.
The Sony HDTV KDL-55HX800’s high-resolution screen gives pictures lifelike detail and clarity. This product uses LED backlighting technology dubbed Dynamic Edge, a hybrid of sorts consisting of edge-lit LEDs and a partial array of LEDs with local dimming. As a result, the Sony HDTV KDL-55HX800 has a reasonable slim profile. The cabinet is approximately 2 inches thick, except for at the bottom where it extends out an additional ¾-inch to accommodate a pair of embedded down-firing speakers
The set consumes an average of 171 watts while displaying high-definition content from a Blu-ray player. Based on the 2009 national average cost of 11.55 cents per KWh and assuming five hours of daily use, the Sony HDTV KDL-55HX800 will add around 10 cents a day (or $3.00 per month) to your electric bill.
