History
Compaq previously was an American personal compter company founded in 1982 by Rod Canion, Jim Harris and Bill Murto – former Texas Instruments senior managers. The name “COMPAQ” was derived from “Compatibility and Quality”, as at its formation Compaq produced some of the first IBM PC compatible computers.
Compaq Computer Corporation is a global provider of enterprise technology and solutions. Compaq designs, develops, manufactures and markets hardware, software, solutions and services, including industry-leading enterprise storage and computing solutions, fault-tolerant business-critical solutions, communication products, and desktop and laptop computers.
