Sony Released Ultraportable Laptop Vaio X

Sony-Vaio-XFinally Sony has officially announced the new series of ultraportable laptops Vaio X this week which the company was showing off at the IFA trade show in Berlin. It seems that Sony still continue to launch ultraportable laptops even lighter and smaller with each passing year or two.

The ultraportable laptops Vaio X will come in carbon fiber body and the 82 keys with 1.2mm stroke and 17mm pitch keyboard made from aluminum. The body weight is only 1.6 lbs and with 0.55 inches thickness, Sony claims that Vaio X is “the world’s lightest notebook”,  since the weight is a lot lighter than most ultraportable slim notebook.

The display for Vaio X is scratch resistant 11.1″ LED backlight with 1,366 x 768 resolution and 16:9 widescreen format. The ultraportable laptops also using Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 500 with Intel® System Controller Hub US15W Chipset, meaning that it will match HDTV formatted content.

The processor will use Intel® AtomTM Processor Z550 (2GHz), 533 MHz with 2GB DDR2 SDRAM and available with 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD). The Vaio X ultraportable laptops also equipped with WiFi Atheros 802.11b/g/n, A2DP Bluetooth® technology, Fast Ethernet (RJ-45) Protocol and Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband for communications.

Other features are uniquely QWERTY keyboard, 82 keys with 1.2mm stroke and 17mm pitch, Built-in MOTION EYE® camera and microphone, Electro-Static touch pad, Intel® High Definition Audio and expansion slots for Memory Stick PROTM (Standard/Duo) and SDTM memory card.

The Vaio X ultraportable laptop ships with Window 7 Home Premium 32bit, VAIO CareTM – System diagnostics and maintenance, Norton Internet SecurityTM 2009 30-Day Trial Office, Microsoft® Works SE 9.0 with 60-Day trial version and AOL® 90-Day Risk Free Trial (new users only).

The battery for Vaio X ultraportable laptops is about 3.5 hours with standard battery, just about little below average than other laptop. In other way there is extended battery which will run the Vaio X fro up to 14 hours according to Sony.

The Vaio X ultraportable laptops series will be available starts at US $1,299 to $1,499 in gold or black color options.
